Installing Current CT Clamps

The non-invasive current clamps (also known as CT clamps) used by UCentric should only be fitted by a properly trained and certificated individual.

The current clamp is designed to be clamped over the LIVE wire within a consumer unit (or single LIVE wire near the equipment to be monitored)

It cannot be clamped around a 2 or 3 wire feed.

The current clamps come in various configurations, but always have a module that clamps around the LIVE wire.

Important

  • Only qualified indivuals should install these

  • Only clamp around a single LIVE Wire

  • Ensure that the Arrow on the top/side of the CT Clamp matches the flow of electricity

  • The ‘sender’ unit must be located OUTSIDE of the consumer unit, and OUTSIDE of any metal casing (as this will act as a faraday cage and block the signal)
