Auditing a Cisco Broadworks Platform
Note: You can use three different methods for auditing Broadworks;
Direct connection to the XSP web portal through UCentric SPA/ZT
Running the Audit.exe applet locally within the SI’s network to generate a backup file for UCentric SPA/ZT
Using an EMU (JSON) backup file on UCentric SPA/ZT
Direct connection
In order to connect directly to a Broadworks platform for auditing, you will need the following information.
XSP URL
Group Admin credentials
Verify Credentials
Check the XSP URL by pasting it into a browser, you should see the following:-
Login with the credentials provided and you should see this page.
NOTE: Ensure that it says “Group” in the top-left of the pane.
Performing the audit from a command prompt
You can perform a ‘live’ audit within a customer environment with the following command line using the Audit.exe applet from MIT. This applet will create an encrypted backup of the data that can be securely taken off-site and imported into UCentric at another location.
audit.exe broadworks -i http://xspURL -u USERNAME@DOMAIN -p PASSWORD -o MyOutputFile
The -i
option defines the XSP hostname. NOTE: You must include http:// or https:// to indicate the protocol to use
The -u
option is the Group Administrator username
The -p
option is the Group Administrator password
The -o
option is the output filename, e.g. “MyOutputFile” will produce MyOutputFile.ucx which you can then drop onto any instance of UCentric SPA/ZT to process offline
Performing an Audit from the SPA/ZT interface with an Extract from the Audit Tool
